Send a Prayer Request to Paul
Carr
Pray For Our
Nation
Remember our President, other
national leaders, and our troops in prayer. Pray for their wisdom,
guidance, strength, and courage. Also, pray for the families of those
called to duty.
The Prayer
Chapel

One of the ministries of Madison Ave.
Baptist Church is the Prayer Ministry.
Being a Prayer Warrior is vastly more than something you do at 8:00 a.m.
every Monday. Intercession is a way of life (Romans 1:9). Being a
Prayer Warrior, God uses your intercession as the means to work in the
lives of others (Job 42:10).
Because intercessory prayer is a way of
life, the ministry of a Prayer Warrior should not be entered into
quickly or irresponsibly. Your involvement in this ministry should come
only after the following:
- You must be saved.
- You
must be a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church (or a former
member).
- You must attend a training session for the Prayer
Chapel prayer ministry.
- The commitment of a Prayer Warrior
(intercessor) must be to God, not a person, church, or program. "I
am the Lord: that is my name; My glory wilt I not give to another." (Is.
42:8a)
- Prayer Warriors must understand that your time in
the Prayer Chapel is your appointment with God. "and He saw that
there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor." (Is.
59:16)
- You must have a clean life. "Who shall ascend into
the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy place? He that
hath clean hands and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul into
vanity nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessings from the
Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. (Ps.
24:3-5)
Church members may submit prayer requests to Prayer Warriors in any of
the following ways:
- Prayer Burden card: these cards are a
part of weekly bulletin. Cards should be completed as much as possible,
removed at the perforation, and placed in the Prayer Burden drop-box or
the offering plate. Cards will be put in the Prayer Chapel so Prayer
Warriors will know of the requests.
- E-mail Prayer Chain: prayer
requests can be emailed to Paul
Carr for distribution to the prayer chain members. You may also contact Paul to become a member of
the email prayer chain.
- Youth E-mail Prayer Chain: youth can
submit prayer requests to Chris Douglas for
distribution to the youth prayer chain members. Youth may also contact Chris about becoming
a member of the youth email prayer chain.
- Contact the Church
Secretary, Shirley Henderson, by phone (982-8785) or email to make a prayer
request known. Shirley will complete a Prayer Burden card and place it
in the Prayer Chapel.
